Interaction Designers have to take into consideration how their designs might influence the mental state of the user. They should avoid implementing manipulative features and design for positive interactions. An example of this is screen time limits, that provide transparency regarding the time the user has been active on the application. Designers should also be transparent when AI tools are integrated and when they are used to collect data, and communicate this effectively to the end user to protect their user privacy. This can be achieved through interfaces that allow users to opt-in and out of AI features and understand the consequences of their choices.
