iPods and iPhones have significantly changed everyone’s lifestyle. It became more personal object than a very big device in the office. It turned into something you can carry everywhere you go; it always became much more personal because it carried our photos, music, and messages, almost like an extension of ourselves. It changed the way people socialize, work, and relax. It changed the way interaction design works, designers cared less about the functionality but more about the people. Icons replaced the buttons of the phones, and apps need to work well on the small screens of a phone. The goal also shifted to making everyone intuitive, personal, and smooth for users. As an interaction design student, I believe interfaces need to be simple and easy to use. It should make people’s lives easier rather than harder.
