Xerox Star is a pioneer in commercial personal workstations. It introduced many of today’s computer concepts such as desktops, icons, windows, and folders. What impressed me most is it has Ethernet and monitor, so it’s very similar compare the computer that we use nowadays. However, such a rich set of functions also brought high prices and learning costs, so it was not particularly successful in the market. However, this did not affect its position in computer history. It also paved the way for the later Apple Macintosh and Microsoft Windows.
