CHM Visit

The Computer History Museum was an incredible space! I was really impressed with how everything was displayed, and I enjoyed finding my way around the museum. It was exciting to learn more about the progression of computers, gaming systems, and phones.

I stopped to look at the display of buttons with computer related slogans on them for several minutes, those were really funny to read.

My favorite object was the Kitchen Computer display, reading “If she can cook as well as Honeywell can compute”. It was humorous to see the Neiman-Marcus advertisement for the Kitchen Computer, the 1969 computer, apron, cookbook, and two-week programming course all in a bundle. It was a reminder of how far we’ve come over the years. The display also mentioned that none were sold- which did not surprise me given how hilarious the gimmick was.

I was also interested to see the Omnibot 2000, Furby, and other adorable robot companions, as they reminded me of my childhood.

Overall, the Computer History Museum was beautiful, informative, and the cafe had a rather delicious ham and cheese sandwich called “The Binary”, which was a nice touch.
