CHM Field Trips

My Impression of the CHM:
I thought the Computer History Museum was really cool. It was interesting to see how video games and computers have changed over time. Seeing the old machines in person made me appreciate how much technology has improved.

What I Learned That Wasn’t Covered in Class:
I learned that Pac-Man was first called “Puckman” in Japan, but the name was changed when it came to English-speaking countries so people wouldn’t mess with the name and make it inappropriate. I didn’t know that before, and it was funny but also kind of smart marketing.

My Favorite Fact or Object and Why:
My favorite object was the Nintendo Game Boy from 1989. I thought it was awesome that it sold over 100 million units and stayed popular for 20 years. It showed me how good design and fun games can last a really long time, even without fancy graphics.
