One major takeaway was how important data is for AI. ImageNet is a huge collection of labeled images that helped train machine learning models, leading to big advances in how computers understand images. This shows that having the right data can make a huge difference in what AI can do.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Her\u00a0emphasis\u00a0on\u00a0making\u00a0AI\u00a0ethical\u00a0and\u00a0human-centered\u00a0also\u00a0caught\u00a0my\u00a0attention. FeiFei\u00a0highlights\u00a0that\u00a0although\u00a0AI\u00a0is\u00a0capable\u00a0of\u00a0amazing things,, it should be designed with people in mind. It\u00a0involves\u00a0more\u00a0than\u00a0just\u00a0automating\u00a0work;\u00a0it\u00a0also\u00a0involves\u00a0enhancing\u00a0lifestyles\u00a0and\u00a0meeting\u00a0societal\u00a0demands. This message really resonates with me as I think about how I design interactive experiences.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Here are some ways her insights will influence my practice in interaction design:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Value of data: Knowing\u00a0the\u00a0importance\u00a0of\u00a0data\u00a0makes\u00a0it\u00a0clear\u00a0to\u00a0me\u00a0that\u00a0inclusive\u00a0and\u00a0varied\u00a0data\u00a0is\u00a0needed\u00a0to\u00a0power\u00a0AI\u00a0systems.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Human-centered Approach: \u00a0Fei-Fei\u00a0Li&#8217;s\u00a0emphasis\u00a0on\u00a0empathy\u00a0serves\u00a0as\u00a0a\u00a0helpful\u00a0reminder\u00a0to\u00a0me\u00a0to\u00a0design with\u00a0users\u00a0in\u00a0mind. My\u00a0goal\u00a0is\u00a0to\u00a0make\u00a0sure\u00a0that\u00a0AI\u00a0technologies\u00a0improve\u00a0user\u00a0experience\u00a0instead\u00a0of\u00a0making\u00a0it\u00a0more\u00a0difficult.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Long-term Impact:\u00a0Her call to consider the societal effects of AI reminds me that my design choices have consequences.
